To schedule, reschedule or cancel an exam:
National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)
The last day Pearson VUE will be delivering exams for NRPA will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014. NRPA will be contacting you shortly with information on how to schedule your exam if you wish to take an exam after January 1, 2015.
NRPA has partnered with Pearson VUE to deliver computer-based testing for three of the four certification programs offered by NRPA in coordination with the National Certification Board. The three certification examinations that are presently offered via computer-based testing are the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Certified Park and Recreation Executive (CPRE), and the Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI).
Certification Examination Preparation Requirements
Before scheduling an examination appointment you must have already
- submitted your application and application fee to NRPA (CPRP/CPRE candidates must have also submitted any required documentation).
- received an examination authorization email/letter notifying you that you are eligible to sit for the exam and providing you with your Candidate ID.
- read through the corresponding candidate handbook.
If you have any questions regarding the preparation requirements, please contact NRPA at
|CPRP Candidate Handbook||308 KB|
|CPRE Candidate Handbook||210 KB|
|CPSI Candidate Handbook||492 KB|
First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Appointments may be made up to one business day in advance.
When creating your account and scheduling your test, you will need your Candidate ID from the Examination Authorization Letter sent to you by NRPA. NRPA recommends test candidates choose Pearson Professional Centers when available for the best testing experience.
After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
