Certifications:

The Investments & Wealth Institute™ administers and grants the industry’s most esteemed professional certifications for financial advisors, investment consultants, and wealth managers: Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®). CIMA® holders meet specific requirements to advise individuals and institutions on portfolio construction and maintenance, while the CPWA® program focuses on the expertise and skills required for holistic wealth management for high-net-worth clients. Both certifications embody the combination of premier quality education and practical application that is the hallmark of the Investments & Wealth Institute.

CIMA - Certified Investment Management Analyst

    CIMA Certification Process:

  • Submit an application and pass a comprehensive background check
  • Complete an executive education program through one of the Institute’s Registered Education Providers
  • Pass a 140-question, comprehensive Certification Exam at a Pearson VUE testing center
  • Demonstrate three years of industry experience, pass a second background check, complete a license agreement and pay initial certification fee

CPWA - Certified Private Wealth Advisor

    CPWA Certification Process:

  • Submit an application and pass a comprehensive background check
  • Complete an online, self-study education requirement
  • Complete an executive education program through one of the Institute’s Registered Education Providers
  • Pass a 135-question, comprehensive Certification Exam at a Pearson VUE testing center
  • Complete a license agreement

Exam Registration Process:

  • All prerequisite steps in the certification process must be met before scheduling to sit for an exam
  • The Institute must provide Pearson VUE with candidate eligibility information prior to scheduling
  • Candidates can schedule their exam once they have received the Authorization to Test notification from Pearson VUE
  • First time testers must create a Pearson VUE web account to schedule
