National Certification and UST/AST

This page contains specific information about the National Certification and UST/AST programs. It is the candidate’s responsibility to read and understand the applicable Exam Information Bulletin and associated exam-specific content outlines in their entirety, prior to registering for an exam. Bulletins can be found on ICC’s website.

Important Information

ICC has been split into different testing programs on our website. You will need to know the two digit exam code before you can register for your National Certification and UST/AST exam. Each testing program will require a unique username and password. View the current exams list for National Certification and UST/AST.

You may now register for the following:

  • National Certification exams based on the 2012 editions of the International Codes will continue to be offered via computer-based testing through at least December 2017, with exceptions noted in the Examination Information Bulletin.
  • National Certification exams based on the 2015 editions of the International Codes will be offered throughout 2017 and beyond.

Please read the National Certification Examination Information Bulletin prior to registering for an examination, and be sure you are choosing the version of the exam you wish to take.

Examination Scheduling Information

Please VERIFY that you have registered your LEGAL name as it appears on your government-issued ID and that your personal information is CORRECT. Contact Pearson VUE immediately to correct the spelling of your name or update your personal information if you notice any errors. It is very important that this information is correct, as it will appear as it was entered on the documentation provided to you after you have completed the exam, as well as on any reports to your licensing agency.

Appointments may be made up to one calendar day prior to the day you wish to test, subject to availability. You may schedule your exam online or over the phone by contacting customer service.
