Pennsylvania Educator Certification Tests (PECT)
Computer-Based Field Test
The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of School Leadership and Teacher Quality, and the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson are seeking teacher certification candidates, recently certified teachers, and candidates for admission to a Pennsylvania educator preparation program to participate in a field test of constructed-response assignments developed for the Pre-service Academic Performance Assessment (PAPA). Field test participants will receive compensation upon verification of participation.
Advantages of Participating
You will have the opportunity to view and respond to test items that may appear on future versions of the PAPA. Participants who register for and complete the 105-minute pilot test will receive a $100 electronic coupon code for Penguin Books which may be used to purchase books, audio books, and other gifts at www.penguin.com. Electronic coupon codes will be sent by e-mail, are valid for one shopping session, and expire 60 days from the date of issue; they may not be used to purchase e-books or applied to shipping costs. You will receive your compensation upon verification of participation.
The Pre-service Academic Performance Assessment (PAPA) field test includes two extended-response writing assignments and four sentence-correction assignments. All field test sessions are 105 minutes long. Candidates may register for up to two (2) field test sessions.
For additional information about participating in the field test, please e-mail ES-PECT@pearson.com.
PECT field testing begins April 15, 2013. You may schedule field test appointments starting April 8, 2013.

If you are unable to keep a pilot test appointment, please cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled test time.
