The Cooper Institute (CI), established in 1970 by Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H., is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventive medicine research and education. Dr. Cooper is widely considered the “Father of Aerobics” and is credited with sparking today’s fitness movement. The Cooper Center Longitudinal Study (CCLS), made up of almost 100,000 patients’ records is the world’s largest health database with measured, objective fitness data. The fitness norms and standards from this database are used by all as the foundation for fitness assessments.

Registering for your exam early will give you the most scheduling options. You must register with Pearson VUE at least one business day prior to your desired exam date.
At check-in you will be required to show a current government-issued photo identification with birthdate and current CPR* card. It is important that you register for the exam under the exact name shown on your ID and CPR card. Otherwise, you will not be admitted into the exam. Exam fees are non-refundable 24 hours before the exam time.
After you schedule your exam, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your exam date and time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
*Adult CPR certification must include hands-on training. Online CPR not accepted.
