The Cooper Institute (CI)

The Cooper Institute (CI), established in 1970 by Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H., is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventive medicine research and education. Dr. Cooper is widely considered the “Father of Aerobics” and is credited with sparking today’s fitness movement. The Cooper Center Longitudinal Study (CCLS), made up of almost 100,000 patients’ records is the world’s largest health database with measured, objective fitness data. The fitness norms and standards from this database are used by all as the foundation for fitness assessments.

Earning your Personal Trainer credential from CI means you have gone to the source.

And, you are backed by over 40 years of fitness research that is responsible for influencing public policies. CI’s certification exam is one of the most comprehensive and respected in the industry, and is nationally accredited.
