APICS Credential Programs

NOTE

APICS exams and credentials reside under the Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM) portfolio and therefore are managed by ASCM.

All candidates except for those retaking SCOR-P exams or taking a CPIM Part 1 China exam are required to log in to the ASCM website to purchase their exam by adding it to their cart and completing the checkout process. Candidates retaking a SCOR-P exam or taking a CPIM Part 1 China exam must complete the Authorization to Test (ATT) Request Form on the APICS website to purchase their exam.

Once candidates purchase their exam either through direct payment or by using a prepaid exam credit, an Authorization to Test (ATT) is created. An ATT is required in order to schedule an exam with Pearson VUE. After completing the checkout process, candidates will receive an ATT confirmation email from ASCM with scheduling instructions and other exam-related information. Candidates must test within the validity period of their ATT. More information about testing policies, including the conditions under which an ATT extension can be granted are outlined in the APICS Exam Handbook.

ASCM is recognized as the premier provider of research, education and certification programs focused on supply chain, operations management, and logistics.

Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Effective February 1st, 2023, ASCM released the reconfigured CPIM exam, reducing the number of required exams to earn the CPIM certification from two exams with CPIM version 7.0 to only one exam in the new CPIM version 8.0 program.

The APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) program is recognized worldwide as the premier supply chain management educational and certification program. The APICS CSCP program takes a broad view of operations, extending beyond internal operations to encompass the entire end-to-end supply chain— from supplier, through the company, to the end consumer.

Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC)

The APICS Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC) credential will equip supply chain professionals responsible for driving transformation with a collected group of best practices, knowledge, skills, and abilities to initiate and enact supply chain transformation. Effective October 2nd, 2023, ASCM will begin administering the APICS CTSC Exam. To learn more about the exam or to purchase a CTSC bundle in a digital format, please visit the ascm.org website.

Test Registration & Scheduling Information

Registration

To take a test, you must first obtain an Authorization to Test (ATT) by purchasing your exam as noted above.

Scheduling

Once you have registered to take a test, you may immediately schedule your test appointment online in your My Account 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. Test appointments are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. ASCM recommends taking the exam within the first three months following the completion of a class or learning system and scheduling two months ahead of your desired exam date.

After you schedule your test appointment, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email listing your confirmed test date and testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center. Please check this information carefully for any errors. If you do not receive an appointment confirmation email after scheduling your exam, please contact Pearson VUE support.

Directions for purchasing and scheduling. Testing policies and procedures can be found in the APICS Exam Handbook.

Rescheduling and canceling an exam

Candidates who need to reschedule or cancel their exam appointment can make modifications directly in their My Account or by calling Pearson VUE direct (additional fees may apply). There is a non-refundable USD $45 rescheduling and cancelation fee. Candidates must reschedule or cancel their test center appointment at least 48 hours prior to their exam appointment. Reschedule or cancel requests received less than 48 hours before the scheduled exam appointment will not be accepted. For OnVUE (online) exam appointments, candidates may reschedule or cancel their online appointment up to the time of the exam appointment time. If the candidate does not test, the candidate forfeits the exam fees. Candidates must reschedule or cancel their examination through their My Account or by contacting Pearson VUE directly. ASCM cannot accept cancelation/reschedule requests by email or online chat.

Rescheduling or canceling your exam does not extend your ATT validity period and you must test before your ATT expiration date. Only available timeslots that fall on or before your ATT expiration date will be shown during the rescheduling process.

To reschedule or cancel your appointment online, visit the ASCM website and log in to your My Account. Then scroll down to the “Your Exams” section and click on the “Reschedule Exam” button for the exam that you wish to reschedule. This will direct you to the Pearson VUE scheduling system where you can choose a new examination date or cancel your exam appointment.

After successfully completing the rescheduling process, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email to you. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that their exam date has been successfully changed. Failure to confirm that a reschedule or cancel request has been successfully processed or changed will not excuse a missed exam appointment.

Emergencies and Additional Information

Exam fees are forfeited for no-shows. Exceptions may be made for medical or other emergencies. If candidates miss the exam due to an emergency, they must contact Pearson VUE within 10 business days after the exam date. Pearson VUE contact information can be found at Pearson VUE customer service. Only authorized emergencies will be considered. Additional information regarding all APICS examinations including the emergency policy and the conditions under which an extension may be granted are outlined in the APICS Exam Handbook.

A service fee of $10 will be applied to all reservations, reschedules, or cancelations completed by the Pearson VUE call center. This fee will be in addition to the $45 reschedule or cancelation fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rescheduling an exam online will result in a $45 (USD) rescheduling charge. Exams scheduled at local face to face testing centers cannot be rescheduled less than 24 hours prior to the testing appointment time. Exams scheduled to be taken online through OnVUE can be cancelled or rescheduled up until the time of the appointment.

You must take your exam within the six-month validity period of your Authorization to Test (ATT). Any availabilities that fall after ATT expiration date, as represented by the “Take exam by” date in your My Account, will not be displayed when scheduling nor rescheduling your exam.

ATT extensions are granted only for scheduled exams under conditions outlined in the Emergency Policy located in the APICS Exam Handbook or when stated in emails sent by ASCM to candidates impacted by large-scale natural or national disasters.

If you miss an exam for emergency reasons, please contact Pearson VUE immediately. Pearson VUE contact information can be found at Pearson VUE Customer Service.
