Idaho Real Estate Commission Retains Pearson VUE to Develop and Administer its Licensure Examinations

Bloomington, Minn., September 4, 2008 — The Idaho Real Estate Commission (“Commission”) has signed a contract with Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, for licensing examination services. The contract was awarded in June through the competitive bidding process and has an initial term of four years with four one-year extension options.

Pearson VUE served the Commission from 1989 to 1995 and reinstated the contract in 2000. Since then, Pearson VUE has developed state-of-the-art technology and assessment programs that have streamlined the licensing process and provided the Commission with superior customer support. Pearson VUE’s highly trained team of content developers and psychometricians use best practices so that all exams are valid, reliable, and legally defensible.

In addition to providing the State of Idaho with exceptional test development and administration services, the new contract will also provide advanced digital fingerprinting. Pearson VUE’s digital fingerprinting process is FBI-approved and allows potential licensees to take their exams and get fingerprinted in one location.

Jeanne Jackson-Heim, executive director of the Idaho Real Estate Commission, said, “Pearson VUE’s performance during my tenure has been tremendous. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very supportive — we have an excellent relationship and their service is something that benefits all of our constituents.”

Robert Whelan, president of Pearson VUE, commented, “We look forward to many years of working with the Idaho Real Estate Commission. Our existing partnership has set the foundation for continued success with the State.”

Art Valentine, vice president of professional services and general manager of regulatory services at Pearson VUE added, “I am extremely confident that our regulatory services will surpass the Commission’s high expectations for technology, security, service, and dependability.”
