Promissor, a Pearson VUE Business, Launches Insurance Examination Program in Ohio

Philadelphia, PA, August 6, 2007 — Promissor, a Pearson VUE business and leading provider of testing services, is pleased to announce that the Ohio Department of Insurance has awarded the company a two-year contract for insurance agent licensing examination services. The program, implemented in July, provides the State with test development, administration, and a variety of support services for prospective resident insurance agents, surety bail bond agents, title agents, and public insurance adjusters.

Ohio insurance candidates will be able to schedule testing appointments at nine convenient locations throughout the state, and have the option to test anywhere in Promissor’s national test center network. In seven of the Ohio test centers, individuals who pass the examination will be able to utilize a kiosk right at the test center to submit an online application directly to the Ohio Department of Insurance. Since all new insurance agents in Ohio must be fingerprinted before they receive a license, Promissor is also partnering with Columbus-based National Background Check, Inc., to provide on-site digital fingerprinting at the test center.

Promissor General Manager Art Valentine said, “We are thrilled to have an opportunity to provide this one-stop, full-service solution that is built around candidate convenience. Ohio constituents will receive unmatched service from Promissor, from the time of exam scheduling through the actual test-taking experience.”

“The Ohio Department of Insurance is tasked with licensing over 15,000 qualified individuals per year. With decades of testing experience, Promissor and Pearson VUE are happy to provide legally defensible examinations and the highest quality of test delivery and post-test services to help the Department achieve its objectives efficiently and effectively,” explained Pearson VUE President Robert Whelan.
