The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography® (ARDMS®) Signs a Five-Year Contract with Promissor, a Pearson VUE Business
Philadelphia, PA, July 11, 2007 — The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and Promissor, a Pearson VUE Business, signed a contract that allows for the continuation of services and delivery of ARDMS examinations worldwide until the year 2012. Through this agreement, ARDMS applicants will have access to the combined network of Promissor test centers and Pearson Professional Centers throughout North America, greatly expanding the number of test centers and testing opportunities available to candidates. The signing of this contract represents the continuation of a long-standing and successful relationship between ARDMS and Promissor®—a leading content development and high-stakes assessment provider recently acquired by Pearson VUE.
Eight years ago, ARDMS initially selected Promissor as its exclusive examination administration vendor for its excellence in technology-based assessment services and for consistently meeting the needs of its test takers. Promissor has maintained the contract through technological innovation and continued attention to customer service.
The acquisition of Promissor by Pearson VUE in 2006 has proven extremely beneficial to ARDMS candidates, providing an expanded global network of test centers facilitating the delivery of ARDMS’ high-stakes, multimedia exams. The enhanced conveniences to candidates include online exam registration, test center locator tools, and increased seat availability.
Dale R. Cyr, ARDMS’ chief executive officer, commented, “The integration of Promissor with Pearson VUE has provided an even greater full-service testing solution with high quality client service that is further enhanced by a greater global outreach. As ARDMS credentials continue to set the standard of excellence in sonography/ultrasound both nationally and internationally. I am fully confident in our partner’s ability to assist in the long-term growth of the program.”
“ARDMS is a highly-valued partner,” said Art Valentine, Promissor’s general manager of regulatory services. “The continuation of our relationship is a mark of ARDMS’ confidence in and support of the changes in our capabilities that have evolved through our acquisition by Pearson VUE.”
Robert Whelan, president of Pearson VUE, comments, “We are extremely pleased to continue our role in administering examinations for these crucial credentials. By increasing availability through the use of our global test center network, we hope to provide access to these examinations wherever there is demand.”
