MySQL Selects VUE as Testing Services Provider for Upcoming MySQL Certification Program

SEATTLE and UTRECHT, NETHERLANDS, December 09, 2002 — MySQL AB, developer of the world’s most popular open source database, and VUE Testing Services today announced that VUE will be the sole provider of electronic testing for the upcoming MySQL certification program. The MySQL certification program will be available to the general public in the first quarter of 2003.

The MySQL certification program is initially designed to award two certifications, the MySQL Core Certification and the MySQL Professional Certification. MySQL certification provides software developers with a credential that validates their knowledge, experience and skills with the MySQL™ database and related MySQL AB products.

Certification through VUE Testing Centers
When available in Q1 2003, each MySQL certification can be earned with successful completion of one exam. VUE, the specialist IT and professional certification testing division of Pearson plc, will provide MySQL electronic testing services through its global network of 3,500 VUE Authorized Testing Centers located in over 130 countries.
