VUE and Pearson Professional Testing Combine for Record Month

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., September 13, 2002 — VUE™ Testing Services and Pearson Professional Testing, the electronic testing businesses of NCS Pearson, today announced that during the month of August 2002, the businesses processed over 500,000 electronic exams. That number represents a new all-time high volume of exams processed by the VUE Testing System in a single month.

Contributing to this record month are Information Technology certification exams available worldwide through VUE Authorized Testing Centers, professional licensing exams delivered through the just-opened domestic network of Pearson Professional Centers and exams processed via mobile testing centers. All of these centers run on the VUE Testing System which is linked in real time to a central hub via the Internet.

“We are pleased that, in spite of tough economic times, our test delivery business is experiencing phenomenal growth,” said Bob Whelan, vice president and general manager, VUE and Pearson Professional Testing. “Our systems infrastructure and service-driven staff handled the increased volume without a hitch. We are looking forward to continued growth as more licensing and certifying organizations turn to NCS Pearson for their testing needs.”
