Pearson VUE raises the bar of business continuity in testing with ISO 22301 accreditation across EMEA, Japan and Korea
LONDON, UK, 13 December 2013 – Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer-based assessment and testing, has set a benchmark in its commitment to continuous testing and security by being the first of its kind to achieve the new global gold standard in business continuity - ISO 22301 - across four regions.
Each year, hundreds of professional and government ‘high stakes’ testing transition from pen and paper, and the new international standard for Business Continuity Management, certified by SGS, enables Pearson VUE to offer unrivalled assurance, minimise down time and enable faster recovery from any incidents. Running regular continuity exercises for every business function, including critical suppliers, means that – unlike alternative frameworks – the company does not need to wait until an incident occurs to test its effectiveness.
Braden Connolly, Head of Testing & Card Services at CITB, said: “Our tests are largely concerned with minimising risk on construction sites, so similarly we need a test delivery partner that is committed to minimising testing risks – be it candidate security or technical contingencies.
“The achievement of this standard reinforces our opinion that in Pearson VUE we have chosen to work with a market leader who has some of the most robust continuity processes that we have seen in place. The comprehensive checks and balances help keep our programme running smoothly and give us the assurance we need that our candidates are testing as we intended.”
Bob Whelan, CEO and President, Pearson VUE, said; “We’re seeing an exciting combination of growing demand for computer-based testing, particularly in newer markets across EMEA and APAC, and ever more sophisticated technology solutions in test development, management and delivery. Equally, the expectations of testing technology are always increasing.
“This places a much greater emphasis on us to navigate this complexity safely and securely for our clients and in a way which makes the fastest fixes possible without compromising security. So it made sense to use this new international standard as a means to develop the most sophisticated recovery framework in our industry.”
ISO 22301 uniquely combines best practices in business continuity from a number of countries. It enables certified organisations to develop a comprehensive framework covering every department that touches a client – from test development to business development.
